
The man was transported in critical condition to an area hospital for treatment of burns
A man was rescued from a house fire Saturday by Vancouver Fire Department’s first-arriving crew. The man was transported in critical condition to an area hospital for treatment of burns by paramedics from both Vancouver Fire and American Medical Response.
At 5 a.m. Saturday morning (May 13), Vancouver Fire was dispatched to the reports of a fire in an abandoned house at 1107 W. 13th St. on the west side of Vancouver. Callers indicated a man was trapped on the second floor of the house that was on fire.
Crews from Vancouver Fire arrived in just under five minutes and went directly in to rescue the trapped person inside. The fire inside was extinguished in just under six minutes and currently under investigation.
