The deceased female and family pet were in the house at the time of the collision. They passed away at the scene. Two other people who lived in the house have been displaced and the Vancouver Fire Chaplain was called to the scene.
The decedent has been identified by the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office as 37-year-old Danielle A. Abrahams, The cause of death was mechanical asphyxia from being pinned under car that crashed into her house.
The driver was transported to an area hospital for evaluation of injuries, which appear to be non-life threatening.
The preliminary investigation by the Vancouver Police Department indicates the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed, hit a median curb, crashed through a fence and then into the house. Impairment and speed were factors in the crash.
