YACOLT — A 17-year-old male died in a single vehicle collision this morning in Yacolt.
Just after 9 a.m., Clark County Fire District 10 and Clark County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) personnel responded to a single vehicle collision in the 34900 block of NE Kelly Road.  Upon arrival, they discovered a full size pickup had struck a tree off the roadway, and was upside down. The single occupant, a young male, was pronounced dead at the scene. A witness described seeing the vehicle “fishtailing” on icy roads prior to the crash.
The deceased driver of the vehicle is a 17-year-old male juvenile. Â His family has been notified and has requested his name not be made public at this time. Â CCSO is respecting their request. The Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit is investigating this collision.
As a tragic reminder, many Clark County roadways that did not dry yesterday froze over last night. Â CCSO officials ask that drivers use extreme caution when traveling, especially during this week of freezing temperatures.
