Clark County Today shares some photos from the Memorial Day Observance at the Fort Vancouver Artillery Barracks
Area residents, elected officials and community leaders gathered Monday at the Fort Vancouver Artillery Barracks to honor fallen veterans at the 2021 Memorial Day Observance.
The event was organized by the Community Military Appreciation Committee and hosted in partnership with The Historic Trust, National Park Service, Clark County and the city of Vancouver.
Music was performed by the 204th Army Band and Officer Rey Reynolds of the Vancouver Police Department performed the National Anthem and God Bless The USA.
Guest speakers included Stacey Graham of The Historic Trust, National Park Service Superintendent Tracy Fortmann, Vancouver Mayor Anne McEnerny-Ogle, Clark County Councilor Gary Medvigy and Minh Pham, who represented the Vietnamese community. Special remarks were delivered by Meredith McMackin, a Gold Star mother.
Echo Taps and a Rifle Salute was performed by the VFW Post 7824 Honor Guard.
