WSDOT bridge maintenance crews will close the eastbound lane of SR 14 West Camas Slough Bridge to complete annual bridge inspections
CAMAS – Travelers who use State Route 14 West Camas Slough Bridge should expect detours and longer than usual travel times.
On Saturday, April 5, Washington State Department of Transportation bridge maintenance crews will close the eastbound lane of SR 14 West Camas Slough Bridge to complete annual bridge inspections.
What to expect
- Saturday, April 5: The eastbound lane of SR 14 West Camas Slough Bridge at milepost 12.6 will close from 6 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
- Travelers will detour around the closure using Exit 12 to Northwest 6th Avenue.
While the foundation of the bridge remains in fair condition, increased traffic in Clark County, age and lack of statewide preservation funding have caused the bridge deck to deteriorate. With nearly 50% of state highways overdue for major preservation work, funding for resurfacing the bridge deck is not currently available. Crews will continue to monitor and address potholes as they appear, but these are short-term repairs until funding can be identified. Regular bridge inspections play a critical role in understanding the needs of structures like the West Camas Slough Bridge.
