
The Oregon State Medical Examiner determined that 43-year-old Kimo A. Henriques died of homicide by gunshot wound
The man killed in the Sumner Neighborhood (Portland) homicide on Wed., Nov. 20 has been identified as Kimo A. Henriques, 43, of Vancouver. His family has been notified of his death and is asking for privacy.
The Oregon State Medical Examiner determined that he died of homicide by gunshot wound. The investigation is continuing and no further information is being released at this time.
The incident took place at a hotel in the Sumner Neighborhood and tactical teams responded to assist with the search for the suspect or suspects. One person was detained for further investigation.
On Nov. 20 at 7:15 a.m., Portland Police officers assigned to North Precinct responded to a call of a shooting at a hotel in the 8200 block of Northeast Sandy Boulevard. When they arrived, they located an adult male in the parking lot. Emergency Medical Services transported him by ambulance, but the man died.
No immediate arrests were made. It has not been verified that the suspect or suspects left the hotel, however, so the Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) and the Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) responded to assist with securing the crime scene.
The Portland Police Homicide Unit responded to the scene and investigated.
