
During the search, firefighters rescued three kenneled dogs within the residence
Vancouver Fire responded to a house fire at 2705 NE Littler Way Thursday (Dec. 12) afternoon. Alert neighbors heard smoke alarms sounding and then noticed smoke coming from the residence.

A call was placed to 9-1-1 at 3:33 p.m. after a bystander attempted to see if anyone was home. First-arriving units were able to access the home and extinguish the kitchen fire quickly.
During the search, firefighters rescued three kenneled dogs within the residence. Homeowners had been alerted during the fire department response and arrived shortly after their beloved pets got carried to fresh air. In all, three dogs and two cats survived the fire. Six people are now displaced from their home.
The Vancouver Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause.
