Drivers should expect delays on SR 14 near Washougal

Roundabout construction work to take place Sept. 12-16

WASHOUGAL — Travelers who use State Route 14 near Washougal should plan for delays or use an alternate route next week, while crews continue work to construct roundabouts on the highway.

Beginning on Thu., Sept. 12, contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will reduce all lanes of SR 14 down to one lane at the intersection of SR 14 and 32nd Street, and close access from the highway north onto 32nd Street.  

Closure details:

Beginning at 10 p.m. Thu., Sept. 12 until 5 a.m. Mon., Sept. 16:

  • Flaggers will alternate travelers on east and westbound SR 14 through a single-lane of the highway.
  • Crews will close 32nd Street between SR 14 north to Addy Street.
  • Travelers should plan to use an alternate route, or expect long delays in the area.
  • Access onto 32nd Street south of SR 14 will remain open.

When 32nd Street reopens on Monday morning, traffic will use a newly constructed permanent roundabout configuration.

As construction continues, travelers should plan for nighttime delays, as they alternate through a single-lane of SR 14 near 32nd Street, nightly from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m.
