VANCOUVER — In order to protect the health and safety of its employees and customers, Clark Public Utilities is temporarily suspending in-person customer service at both its Electric Center and Operations Center locations, beginning Tue., March 17.

Clark Public Utilities officials are closely monitoring the status of coronavirus in the community and following the latest guidelines from federal, state and local governments and public health authorities.

“We plan to resume our normal operations as soon as it is deemed safe to do so,’’ read a statement issued Monday afternoon.

During this time, the utility has restored service to all customers and will not be disconnecting electric or water service for lack of payment. Customers experiencing hardship are encouraged to call Customer Service for arrangements and assistance options.

Because Clark Public Utilities provides critical water services to many and all electric services to medical facilities, homes, and businesses, and others in Clark County, utility officials stated, “we must protect the health of our employees so that they can quickly respond to outages and continue providing excellent customer service.’’

“If you need to speak with us, pay a utility bill, manage your account, or learn more about utility services you can call us 24 hours a day, seven days a week at (360) 992-3000, email mailbox@clarkpud.com or visit clarkpublicutilities.com,’’ stated the news release. “Please report outages by calling PowerLine (360) 992-8000 or by using our website.’’
