Applications available for Battle Ground’s 2019 fireworks lottery

New city regulations will limit the number of fireworks stand permits issued in 2019 to five

BATTLE GROUND — The retail sale of fireworks within the city of Battle Ground is regulated by Washington state statute and city code.  The city of Battle Ground requires that organizations who sell fireworks be a service club, religious or charitable organization — recognized by Washington state as a nonprofit — that conducts business within the city and benefits the citizens of Battle Ground.

New city regulations will limit the number of fireworks stand permits issued in 2019 to five.  In order to determine which five nonprofit organizations may apply for a fireworks stand permit, a lottery will be conducted.

Eligible nonprofits interested in obtaining a permit to sell fireworks in 2019 must enter the lottery by submitting a Fireworks Stand Lottery Application to the city no later than 5 p.m. on Jan. 31.   The lottery will take place on Fri., March 15.
