Initial investigation found the driver left the roadway, lost control and rolled
The teen driver in a single-vehicle collision in Hockinson was ejected from the vehicle and found on the roadway.
On Friday (Aug. 26) at about 9:49 a.m., personnel from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Clark County Fire District 3 and American Medical Response (AMR) were dispatched to the 16000 block of NE 159th Street on the report of a single-vehicle injury collision.
Responding units found a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee in the southern ditch of NE 159th Street. The 17-year-old driver was found next to the vehicle, in the roadway. The driver was transported to a local hospital and was in critical condition at the time of this report.
Initial investigation found the driver left the roadway, lost control and rolled. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected.
This is the third injury or fatal collision in the past ten days in Clark County involving unrestrained drivers who were ejected. The Sheriff’s Office wants to remind the motoring public of the importance of wearing seatbelts.
The collision is being investigated by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit.
