Summer Fun and Flamingos is the theme on Aug. 5
Summer Fun and Flamingos will be returning to Downtown Camas as the theme for August’s First Friday event, which will go from 5 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 5.
The event is hosted by the Downtown Camas Association.
Family friendly flamingo inspired games and crafts will be featured, as well as a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new business. Featured artists will display their work. There will be after-hours shopping, dinner specials, and live music, too.

The new business is William and Son Jewelers, located at 210 NE 4th Ave. The store offers custom designs and an assortment of fine pieces.
Pink flamingos will “flock” downtown compliments of the Camas Grad Night Flamingo Flocking Fundraiser. Find out how to flock a friend with this tradition, with proceeds going to pay for the after-graduation party for high school seniors.
People are encouraged to dress the part. Yes, look like a flamingo, or at least some summer-inspired clothing. There will be prizes.
“Let your flamingo flag fly and bring us your brightest and boldest attire,” said Leah Nichelson, event and project manager for the DCA. “It’s such a joy to see the people come together and enjoy their community at First Friday. I’m looking forward to seeing all the fabulous flamingo themed costumes. This event has something for all walks of life. Everyone can enjoy their community and celebrate summer in our wonderful downtown.”
