Emergency personnel worked quickly to provide medical aid to the single driver and two restaurant patrons who were injured in the collision
Shortly after 7 p.m. on Wednesday (July 13), Fire District 3 personnel responded to a traffic accident involving an automobile crashing through a restaurant in downtown Battle Ground.
Firefighters, with assistance from the Battle Ground Police Department and AMR, worked quickly to provide medical aid to the single driver and two restaurant patrons who were injured in the collision.
Extrication tools were implemented to free a victim as the building was shored up to prevent collapse. All injured persons were transported to the hospital via ambulance for further care.
The cause of the accident is unknown at this time, but there was no initial indication that drugs or alcohol were a factor.
The restaurant experienced damage to a main support post and is currently being evaluated by the City Building Official.
