Passenger dies in fatal collision on Saturday

VANCOUVER — On Dec. 17, at about 8:09 p.m., the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Clark County Fire and American Medical Response responded to the 3400 block of NE Cavitt Road on the report of a single vehicle injury collision.

The driver had self-extricated from the vehicle and was transported to a local hospital to be treated for injuries sustained in the collision. Emergency responders located one passenger still in the vehicle. The passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The identities of the driver and passenger are not being released at this time. Detectives with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit are investigating the collision. Alcohol and excessive speed are believed to be contributing factors.

There are no further details at this time, as this is an active investigation.
