The Hockinson Band Program will host the 8th North County Honor Bands Feb. 3 and 4 at Hockinson High School. This is the first time since 2020 that the event has been held.
Approximately 150 student musicians will participate in the honor bands, representing seven high schools and 14 middle schools from the Battle Ground, Camas, Hockinson, La Center, Ridgefield, Washougal, and Woodland school districts. They were recommended by their band director and selected on the basis of their ability and accomplishments.

The students will rehearse Friday evening and Saturday afternoon before presenting the annual North County Honor Band Concert, Sat., Feb. 4 at 6 p.m. in the Hockinson High School Auditorium, 16819 NE 159th St. Brush Prairie, WA 98606. The concert is free and open to the public.
Many area band directors also accompany their students to the event, which serves as a useful observation opportunity for area band directors. The middle school honor band will be directed by band director and best-selling author Lesley Moffat. The high school honor band will be directed by Paul Bain, director of bands at Western Washington University.
For more information about the North County Honor Band, contact Hockinson High School Band Director Corey McEnry at (360) 448-6450.
