🎧 Rocksolid Teen Center’s 40/40 Campaign Seeks Community Support

For many teens, the hours after school are the most uncertain part of the day. It’s the time when young people are most likely to be unsupervised, and when having a safe place to go, something to eat, and people who care can make all the difference.

At Rocksolid Community Teen Center, that’s exactly what teens find. And right now, what that looks like for the coming school year is being decided.

“What happens over the next few weeks will shape what we’re able to offer teens this fall,” said Executive Director Grant Gilson. “The support we receive right now will determine how we’re able to show up for them day to day.”

To meet that moment, Rocksolid has launched a community campaign called 40/40, inviting 1,000 people to give $40 and be part of what comes next.

$40 might not go far these days, but for a teen at Rocksolid, it’s a safe place to go after school.

For 24 years, Rocksolid has created a space where teens can walk in and feel known and supported. It’s where after school becomes something more, a sense of stability, connection, and a community they can count on. As Rocksolid looks ahead, the goal is simple, to make sure every teen in the community knows they have a place they can come after school.

What happens right now will shape what Rocksolid looks like this fall, from how many teens we can serve to how we’re able to show up for them each day.

A $40 gift can help provide meals, transportation, and a safe, supervised environment during those after-school hours. But more than that, it helps make consistent, everyday support possible.

It’s a place where a teen is known.

Where they’re not on their own after school.

And where someone shows up for them every day.

The campaign follows Rocksolid’s recent Shamrock Auction, which brought the community together in support of local teens. While the auction was a moment of celebration, the 40/40 campaign is focused on sustaining what comes next.

“The auction helped us celebrate,” Gilson said. “This campaign helps us sustain.”

Rocksolid is encouraging community members, families, and local businesses to take part by giving $40, sharing the campaign, or helping spread the word.

This campaign is about more than a donation. It’s about being part of something local, lasting, and meaningful for teens in the community.
