State champion Columbia River has three athletes voted to all-state squad
Add a few more honors for the state champions.
Plus, some other state tournament participants from Clark County received more recognition, as well.
The Washington State Volleyball Coaches Association voted for the all-state teams, and seven athletes from Clark County made the list.
Columbia River, the Class 2A state champion for the second consecutive season, led the way with three all-state players.
Lauren Dreves, a junior and the Class 2A Greater St. Helens League’s offensive player of the year, was named to the Class 2A first-team for all-state as an outside hitter. She was joined by teammate Sophie Worden, a senior setter.
Also making it to the all-state team for the Rapids was outside hitter Sydney Dreves, a sophomore, who was voted to the second team.
Ridgefield finished second in the state tournament, falling to the Rapids in the championship match. The Spudders will have plenty of talent back next year, as well, led by junior Lizzy Andrew. She was voted to the first team as a middle blocker.
The La Center Wildcats, the Trico League champions, were led by Ella Schoene. A senior, she was voted to the Class 1A first team as an outside hitter and middle blocker. La Center went 1-2 in the state tournament.
In Class 4A, Kendall Mairs, a sophomore outside hitter from Camas, was selected for the second team. Camas reached the state quarterfinals this season.
In Class 3A, Prairie middle blocker Ella Conklin, a senior, was voted to the second team. Prairie reached the Sweet 16 of the 3A state tournament.
