Welcome back to the Clark County Today Sports Podcast.
We know that spring sports playoffs have started, but we also just had to talk fall sports – specifically football, with a new playoff format coming to the Washington. Nope, it is not a 32-team state bracket. The state tournament remains at 16 teams. But it will certainly look and “feel” like a 32-team bracket. We explain.
We also discuss scholarship offers to a standout athlete, who just happens to be a sophomore.
And we talk about a new football coach in Woodland.
Plus pro sports. Mariner fans are struggling. And we all wish the best for Lincoln Victor, former Union Titan, who has signed a free agent contract in the NFL.
The podcast format is simple. Tony Liberatore of Vancouver Public Schools and Cale Piland of Evergreen Public Schools give their thoughts, along with Clark County Today reporter Paul Valencia. Liberatore and Piland are longtime sports administrators. And Valencia has been a sports reporter in the region for more than 20 years.
We lead with high school sports. Then talk college and pro, too. And usually a few light items beyond sports.
