
All personnel assignments were approved by the school board
The following changes in administration will take place in July for the 2023-24 school year. All personnel assignments were approved by the school board.
Tukes Valley Primary


April Vonderharr, current interim principal at Tukes Valley Primary School, will permanently assume the role of principal at Tukes Valley. Salina Machida, current interim assistant principal, will permanently assume the role of assistant principal.
Daybreak Middle School

Current Assistant Principal Lesli Collum will become Daybreak’s principal.
Pleasant Valley Middle School

Austin Brothers has been named principal at Pleasant Valley Middle School. Brothers currently is the assistant principal at Chief Umtuch Middle School.
Battle Ground Virtual Academy

Matt Stanfill will serve as the school’s assistant principal. Stanfill currently is an assistant principal and the athletic director at Battle Ground High School.
Battle Ground High School


Kirsten Talbott, current dean of students, will serve as the school’s assistant principal/athletic director. Jamal McKenzie will serve as the school’s dean of students. McKenzie is currently the athletic director at Union High School in Evergreen Public Schools.
More administrative changes


Executive Director of Special Services Ellen Wiessner is resigning at the end of the school year. Current BGPS Director of Special Services Kellie Clay will become the executive director. Jennifer Goodwin has been named the director of special services. Goodwin is currently an assistant principal in Evergreen Public Schools.
