Lacamas Athletic Club, (LAC), is trying to help people attain those goals through launching a free weekly bootcamp at the start of 2019 with workouts lead by certified personal trainers.

Anyone 18 years of age or older can participate in LAC’s varied-workout bootcamp, with no registration necessary. Different levels of intensity will be available, and new versions of popular workouts will be included.

“My hope for this program is to provide a free, safe, guided, motivating and fun environment that will lead to great results,” said General Manager of LAC, Nathan Murphy, in an email conversation. “It is my goal to do this while showcasing some of the best fitness professionals I have worked with in my 15 years experience in the industry.”

Murphy said the pan is to host the bootcamp, free-of-charge through the end of February, with the hope that it will continue indefinitely depending on its popularity.

The bootcamp will commence every Saturday at 8:30 a.m. inside the club’s main building in Camas. Attendees will sign up through a waiver on their first visit, and have a basic check-in process after that.

Personal trainers will assist in teaching new workouts and working specifically with individuals to help them find exercises that work for them, a service that usually costs several hundred dollars.

“I believe it is important to improve the wellness of everyone in the community regardless of their financial situation,” Murphy said.

More information on the specific start date and future events connected to the bootcamp will be posted to LAC’s Facebook page, website and shared with current members through a monthly newsletter.
