Big names will take the stage early during the fair’s 10-day run, then rodeo, racing, and trucks hit the dirt
With the Clark County Fair set to open Friday, here’s a look at what will be coming to the Toyota Grandstands during the fair’s 10-day run.
As is tradition, concerts will open the grandstand attractions.
Every Light in the House is On, and Trace Adkins is going to sing about it on opening night of the fair.
George Thorogood and the Destroyers are still Bad to the Bone. They will take the stage Saturday night, Aug. 5.
Don’t Fear the Reaper (nor the cowbell) when Blue Oyster Cult performs Sunday night, Aug. 6.
I know Somebody who will cap the concerts on Monday when LoCash hits the stage on Aug. 7.
The concerts are free with a ticket to the fair for those who prefer to remain in the grandstands. Each concert also has reserved seating, VIP tickets available, ranging from $25 to $40. For more information on VIP tickets, go to: https://www.clarkcofair.com/
Once the musical artists get down from the stage, the stage will be taken down to prepare for the dirt life.
On Tuesday Aug. 8, Mutton Bustin’ takes place at 2 p.m. with the Hell on Hooves Rodeo Summer Showdown Tour getting the spotlight at 7 p.m. The Mutton Bustin’ finals also take place during the rodeo.
From unintentional falls on the rodeo to intentional crashes in cars. On Wednesday, Aug. 9, it’s the Demolition Derby. WGAS Motorsports Entertainment is bringing in daring drivers in junker cars, and everyone expects mayhem. There are two shows, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
For Thursday Aug. 10, it’s two shows of utility terrain vehicles in Side By Side racing on a short, dirt course.
Tuff Trucks are so popular, they compete over two days, with two shows a day on Friday, Aug. 11 and Saturday, Aug. 12. Tuff Trucks (or SUVs) race the clock over a track of bumps, jumps, and a mud pit.
Then the grand finale of the grandstands for the 2023 Clark County Fair. It’s time for Monster Trucks on Sunday, Aug. 13. Two shows, but organizers suggest getting there early. This is always a popular event, featuring a colossal lineup of mega Monster Trucks.
All dirt shows are free with admission to the fair.
