The Clark County Council meeting of Jan. 28, agenda item 5.2 under New Business was the first mention of Immigration Enforcement. The chamber was full of people to speak pro and con. The pro side spoke with reason and support for enforcement as to illegal immigration. The con side seemed to speak of fear and in support for illegal immigrants here in Clark County.

One person ended with three ‘F’ bombs and the Council and security did nothing. On Feb. 4, meeting agenda 4.1 under Old Business was the minutes of the Jan. 28 meeting. I’ll note that speakers can speak on agenda items only in this particular meeting. Those minutes were from the previous meeting where much could be spoken on such as the use of the ‘F’ bomb and other matters.
Last year, Chair Sue Marshall adopted a policy that citizens can not speak on any past minutes, even as the minutes are on the agenda! I find that unconstitutional and a means to stop the public from their First Amendment Rights! Needless to say I tried and was cut off.
On the Feb. 11 meeting agenda, item 4.2 under Old Business was “Draft Resolution: Clarifying Clark County’s Jurisdiction Authority and Council Statement on Immigration Enforcement Activity in Clark County.’’ The chamber was packed again. Same pro and con and speaking time again was limited to two minutes. Warning from the chair against profanity or rude remarks was said again with an added warning that the meeting could be stopped.
Fear and hate ensued as a young he/she spoke and ended with wadding a few pages of paper into a ball, pulled his pants down far enough to cram the wad down his backside making wiping motions and threw that biohazard at the Council! The chair and security did nothing. The fearful people were ok with this disgusting event.
There were some changes to the resolution draft and passed with a 3-2 vote with Councilors Michelle Belkot and Matt Little voting no. Public Safety is number one priority with the fearful stating immense fear of ICE. What about the public safety for tax paying voters?
If the public doesn’t stand up against this self-proclaimed sanctuary County Council, your property taxes etc. will continue to pay for this illegal immigration.
Our forefathers warned us to assemble when government rules over We The People! Please look at the weekly County Council meeting agendas. To listen to these meetings now, scroll to the dates mentioned and the link “Council Time” will allow you to listen.
