Vancouver robbery and attempted murder suspect taken into custody in Portland


During the pursuit, the suspect fired shots at a pursuing VPD officer in the area of NE 86th/NE Burton Rd.

VANCOUVER – The suspect of a robbery Saturday in Vancouver led officers on a chase that ended when Portland Police took the suspect into custody in Northeast Portland.

On Saturday (Feb. 26) at about 4:48 p.m., Vancouver Police responded to a report of a robbery at a convenience store located at 2721 E. Fourth Plain Blvd. The suspect displayed a firearm, robbed the store, and fled in a vehicle.

Vancouver Police located the vehicle and initiated a pursuit. During the pursuit, the suspect fired shots at a pursuing VPD officer in the area of NE 86th/NE Burton Rd. 

The suspect continued into Portland where they were taken into custody by Portland Police in the area of NE 33rd Ave/NE Broadway. No police officers were injured during this incident. 

During the pursuit, the suspect threw the firearm from the vehicle, which was later recovered by police. 

The suspect is being held in Multnomah County and will be extradited to Clark County for Robbery I and Attempted Homicide I. 

The investigation is ongoing.
