On Thursday (May 19) at about 4:39 p.m., Vancouver Police responded to reports of a shooting and a large physical fight in the parking lot outside an apartment complex at 4619 NE 112th Ave.

In addition to the initial crime scene location, a possible suspect vehicle was reported to be fleeing the area and multiple involved subjects were reported to be walking away from the area.  The suspect vehicle was stopped at a nearby business and three males (one 18-year-old and two 17-year old’s) were detained.

The two juveniles and another 18-year-old male showed up in the afternoon at Tamoua’s apartment to confront him and he armed himself with a firearm.

The three males threw rocks and/or used a slingshot to project ball bearings toward Tamoua, in response he fired the gun at them. Tamoua gave the gun to another male, who took off in the vehicle that was later located by police.

The apartment complex property sustained damage from both firearm and slingshot projectiles. There were no serious injuries reported.

Laufilitonga K. Tamoua, was arrested for Assault I and booked into the Clark County Jail.
