Vancouver firefighters extinguish garage fire

Crews battle blaze that spread from one detached garage to another and threatened residence

Vancouver Fire Department (VFD) units responded to a garage fire over the weekend that threatened a primary residence.

On Sunday (May 31) morning at 5:08 a.m., the VFD was dispatched to the report of a structure fire at 2715 P Street in Vancouver. When the first engine arrived, crews found a detached garage in the alleyway behind the address that was fully involved in flames. 

Fire had spread to a second detached garage and was also threatening the house. Fire crews quickly stretched hoselines to the rear of the house to extinguish the blaze. The fire was under control by 5:27 a.m.

Fire investigators from the Vancouver Fire Marshal’s Office were on scene to determine the cause and dollar loss associated with the fire. A total of 21 firefighters were on scene to put the fire out. There were no injuries reported and no one was displaced from the residence.
