Vancouver Fire crews respond to garage fire

Red Cross officials are aiding five displaced adults

Firefighters quickly extinguished a garage fire Monday (Oct. 11) afternoon in Vancouver.

Four fire engines, a ladder, truck and a battalion chief from the Vancouver Fire Department were dispatched to 2904 E 13th street at 12:25 p.m. Monday. Upon arrival, first arriving fire crews found smoke and fire showing throughout the attached garage. 

The first fire unit arrived within four minutes. Crews stretched a hoseline to extinguish the fire. 

Red Cross officials are aiding five displaced adults. Two cats were also rescued. No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Vancouver Fire Marshal Office.
