Two suspects were taken into custody early Monday morning after attempting to elude law enforcement in a car reported to be stolen.
On Monday (Dec. 11) at about 4:09 a.m., a Clark County Sheriff’s deputy spotted a vehicle driving recklessly northbound on NE 117th Ave. at about the 9500 block. The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, a red Toyota Camry, which attempted to elude the traffic stop. A records check of the license plate showed the vehicle had been reported stolen in a Robbery in Portland the previous day.
The Clark County Sheriff’s Office engaged in a vehicular pursuit with the Camry which continued to flee northbound on State Route 503 before making a U-turn at NE 179th St. The pursuit continued southbound at speeds of over 100 mph and a sheriff’s deputy successfully deployed Stop Sticks on the fleeing suspect vehicle at NE 119th St. Another deputy successfully deployed a second set of Stop Sticks on the vehicle near NE Padden Parkway.
The stolen Camry came to a stop in the intersection of NE 117th Ave. and NE 76th St. and three occupants fled from the vehicle on foot, into the Fred Meyer parking lot. Two of the three suspects were apprehended by deputies on the east side of the Fred Meyer, near the loading bays. Tasers were deployed during the apprehension of both suspects who received evaluations by EMS at the scene after being taken into custody without further incident.

A loaded firearm and ammunition were observed inside the stolen vehicle at the scene. The vehicle was impounded by the Sheriff’s Office and this case remains under active investigation by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Detective Unit.
There were no injuries reported in association with this incident.
