
Amanda Folston was located in Las Vegas and taken into custody on a custodial interference warrant
A woman in violation of a court order regarding custody of her children has been located in Las Vegas and her two children will be reunited with their father in Vancouver.
On Thursday (Dec. 14) evening, Vancouver Police Department (VPD) detectives learned that Amanda Folston was at a hotel in Las Vegas. Las Vegas Metro Police patrol units responded immediately, located Folston and took her into custody for the custodial interference warrant. They also recovered 5-year-old Liam Tonkin and 7-year-old Jessie Tonkin. Both of the children were unharmed.
The investigation did not yield any information to suggest Folston, or the children, were the victims of any crimes, aside from the violation of the court order regarding custody of the children.
VPD detectives had been attempting to locate Folston and the children. They were last seen on Oct. 7 in the area of East Vancouver.
