VANCOUVER – Travelers who use State Route 14 through Vancouver in southern Clark County, should plan ahead for three weeks of overnight closures.
Beginning Monday, May 13 and continuing through Friday, May 31, Washington State Department of Transportation’s contractor, Tapani, Inc., will close the eastbound lanes of SR 14 at the Lieser Road overpass, nightly, between mileposts 4.35 and 4.36, to finish repair work along the southern end of the bridge.
Closing the lanes of the highway is necessary to ensure traveler safety, as the bridge work occurs directly above the travel lanes.
Closure details

- Monday, May 13 to Tuesday, May 14: A single lane of eastbound SR 14 will be closed overnight, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

When the eastbound lanes of SR 14 and Lieser Road bridge are closed, travelers will use the off- and on-ramps at Exit 4, to detour around the closure. Additionally, the left lane of westbound SR 14 may also be closed. Emergency responders will still have access across the Lieser Road bridge.
During overnight closures, crews will remove concrete formwork, remove the temporary traffic barrier, perform concrete patching on the bridge deck, and complete bridge girder repairs underneath the bridge.
This project $2.19 million dollar project is scheduled for completion this summer.
Travelers are reminded to slow down as they approach the work zone, follow directional detour signs and expect delays.
