The juvenile stated to school officials he had brought the firearm for self-defense
On Tuesday (May 31), Clark County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a juvenile male at Skyview High School for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon on school grounds.
School employees had located a handgun in a jacket pocket of the student while at the school. The juvenile stated to school officials he had brought the firearm for self-defense. The semi-automatic handgun had rounds in the magazine and an empty chamber.
Per RCW 9.41.280 the juvenile was referred to speak to a designated crisis responder while at the Juvenile Detention Center.
This is an ongoing criminal investigation.
