Not only are the returns coming in faster than LGW has previously experienced, but Democrats and Independents make up over half of the total signatures gathered on both initiatives
REDMOND – Today, Let’s Go Washington (LGW) released their current count of signatures on both initiatives to the Legislature and both are ahead of schedule. IL26-001, the initiative to strengthen communication between parents and schools, has amassed 183,368 signatures while IL26-638, the initiative to protect fairness in girls’ sports has garnered 199,946 signatures. This means that 001 is 59% of the way complete and 638 is 65% of the way complete; both figures represent historic gains in record time for LGW.

Not only are the returns coming in faster than LGW has previously experienced, but Democrats and Independents make up over half of the total signatures gathered on both initiatives for the return of the first 60,000 signatures.
LGW Founder Brian Heywood issued the following statement:
“Signatures have been coming in at a blistering pace – we’ve already hit the halfway point in less than three weeks. Despite physical violence, theft, and vandalism, not only are we on pace, but it seems to have motivated average citizens to stand up, get involved and sign their names. It’s not an extreme position to believe that parents deserve to know what’s going on with their kids. It’s not an extreme position to protect girls in their sports.”
LGW has continued to update the Attack Tracker which has recorded nearly 40 incidents of theft, attacks and harassment directed toward signature gatherers. Though political extremists have done everything in their power to dissuade people from exercising their right to sign initiatives, the opposite effect has taken place. LGW supporters and volunteers will continue to gather signatures until Dec. 19 when the final collection and turn-ins will be made.
