This year, Furry Friends volunteers are setting their sights on an ambitious goal: raising $200,000 to help complete a new medical building
On Tuesday (Dec. 3), Furry Friends will participate in #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that encourages individuals, communities, and organizations to come together and support the causes that matter most. This year, Furry Friends volunteers are setting their sights on an ambitious goal: raising $200,000 to help complete a new medical building. This facility will be a game-changer for the cats and kittens in their care, and they need your support to make it a reality.

What is #GivingTuesday? #GivingTuesday is a worldwide movement that harnesses the power of generosity and philanthropy. It’s a day when people around the world give back, whether through donations, volunteering, or simply spreading the word about important causes. As part of this global effort, we hope to raise critical funds to complete the new medical building — a resource that will allow Furry Friends to provide even better care for the cats in their shelter and beyond.
The goal: $200,000 for the new medical building
Furry Friends volunteers are thrilled to share that they’re already partway through the fundraising journey to complete the new medical building. However, they still need to raise approximately $250,000 to reach the total estimated cost of $500,000. Your contribution on #GivingTuesday will bring them one step closer to this important milestone.

Why this medical building matters
The new medical building isn’t just a space for veterinary care — it’s a vital part of the mission to help reduce the number of homeless cats in our community and provide them with the highest standard of care. Here’s how it will benefit the shelter and the larger community:
- Bringing Spay/Neuter Services In-House: By building the medical facility, Furry Friends will be able to provide spay/neuter surgeries on-site. This will give greater access to these essential services, save money in the long run, and allow Furry Friends to operate more sustainably.
- Launching a Community TNR Program: Furry Friends plans to work with a local trapper to implement a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program for community cats. This effort will help reduce the number of kittens born outside, curbing the population of stray and feral cats in our community.
- Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Program for Seniors: With this new building, Furry Friends hopes to launch a low-cost spay/neuter program specifically for seniors on limited incomes. Furry Friends will handle transportation, ensuring that cost is never a barrier to keeping pets healthy and out of the shelter system.
- Spay/Neuter Services for Local Rescue Partners: The new medical facility will also offer affordable, sustainable spay/neuter services to other local rescue groups who may not have reliable access to veterinary care. This collaboration will strengthen our entire rescue community.
