Domestic violence suspect arrested following short pursuit

Detectives and other officers from area law enforcement agencies were able to apprehend a domestic violence suspect after a short chase Sunday.

On Sunday (March 13), the Clark County Sheriff’s Office obtained information that a subject wanted on several recent felony domestic violence charges was in the area of E Fourth Plain Boulevard and T Street.  Detectives and on duty patrol personnel from the Sheriff’s Office, Vancouver Police Department and Battle Ground Police Department responded to the area and surveyed the suspect.  

At about 2:55 p.m., contact was attempted with the suspect, who fled in his vehicle eastbound on NE Fourth Plain Blvd.  The suspect was pursued for less than half a mile before a successful PIT maneuver ended the pursuit.

The 34-year-old suspect, Owen T. Beckley of Vancouver, was taken into custody. No civilians or law enforcement personnel were injured.  

Beckley was booked on Assault II-DV, Rape 3-DV, Unlawful Imprisonment-DV and Felony No Contact Order Violation.
