Commissioner Parcher to be sworn in Tuesday

VANCOUVER — District Court Commissioner Kristen Parcher will be sworn in as Clark County’s newest judge at 4 p.m. Tue., May 16, in Department 10 of the Clark County Courthouse, 1200 Franklin St.

The Clark County Council last week selected Commissioner Parcher to succeed District Court Judge Vernon L. Schreiber, who died April 25 after a short illness. He was 74.

A Brush Prairie resident, Commissioner Parcher worked as a civil attorney and criminal defense attorney in Vancouver before being appointed a court commissioner six years ago. A supporter of Clark County’s therapeutic courts, her duties include involvement in Mental Health Court, Substance Abuse Court and Veterans Court.

She earned her law degree at the University of Oregon School of Law, and she is a graduate of Washington State University.
