A short time later, at about 7:05 a.m., at Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital at 2211 NE 139th Street, two males displayed a handgun in a robbery attempt in the parking garage.  The victim refused to give any items to the suspects.  The vehicle left the area.

A description of the vehicle and occupants was provided to area law enforcement agencies.  The Vancouver Police located a possible suspect vehicle which left southbound on I-5 at a high rate of speed.  Due to traffic and suspect vehicle speed, Vancouver Police lost sight of the suspect vehicle.  It was determined the suspect vehicle continued south into Portland.

Portland Police located the vehicle, and a suspect was taken into custody.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Detective Unit will conduct the follow-up investigations of the robberies in Clark County and will coordinate with Portland Police.
