On Thursday (Sept. 3) at 3:07 p.m., CCSO deputies responded to the 9700 block of NE 19th Avenue for the report of disturbance with a weapon.  Almost immediately after, callers reported a vehicle collision in the same area.

Witnesses had also reported hearing several gunshots in the area.  Sheriff’s deputies and detectives responded to the scene and began an investigation. There was a significant law enforcement presence in the affected area for several hours.

Thus far, no injuries or victims have been reported, and no arrests have been made.  The shooting appears to have started as a road rage incident between two drivers, and one of the drivers collided with an uninvolved person after shots were fired.

Detectives do not believe there is a current threat to the public, and multiple persons are being interviewed.

No innocent bystanders were hit by bullets, though bullet holes were found in nearby residences.
