
Initial investigation showed two vehicles had collided multiple times in a stretch of over two miles on Washougal River Road
A Washougal man was booked into the Clark County Jail after an initial investigation into an incident that took place Tuesday night on the Washougal River Road.
On Tuesday (Aug. 23) at about 10:48 p.m., Clark County Sheriff’s Office units were dispatched to the report of a disturbance with a weapon at the 40700 block of SE Washougal River Road.
A 9-1-1 caller reported hearing gunshots and a male was walking on Washougal River Road who stated his vehicle had been shot. The male reportedly had injuries to his upper body.
Responding units located several crime scenes on Washougal River Road. Two involved vehicles were located. Initial investigation showed the two vehicles had collided multiple times in a stretch of over two miles on Washougal River Road. Evidence was observed in both vehicles indicating the potential presence of firearms. Both vehicles are pending search warrants to search for additional evidence.
Four subjects were transported to a local hospital where they were interviewed by detectives. No one was found to have been struck by gunfire. One subject, Thomas R. Malcom, 49, of Washougal, was booked into the Clark County Jail on three counts of Assault I.
The investigation is being followed up on by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit and Tactical Detective Unit.
