Clark County inmate dies after apparent suicide attempt while in custody

Jesse M. White died Thursday at an area hospital from injuries sustained in suicide attempt while in Clark County Jail

An inmate in the Clark County Jail died Thursday at an area hospital due to injuries sustained in what Clark County Sheriff’s Office officials described as a suicide attempt.

On Tuesday (June 1), corrections deputies at the Clark County Jail found an inmate unresponsive in his cell.  Corrections deputies and nursing staff began life saving procedures as emergency medical services were summoned.  

The inmate, identified as Jesse M. White, was transported to a local hospital where he died Thursday.

White had been in the Clark County Jail since May 11.  He was being held on suspicion of Assault 2-Domestic Violence with a Firearm; Assault 2 – Domestic Violence, Harassment and Theft of a Firearm.  His death is under active investigation of the Clark County Major Crimes Unit.
