Camas house a total loss after weekend fire

Kitchen fire led to blaze Saturday on NW Hill Street

A Camas home and its content are considered to be a total loss after a fire Saturday.

At about 6:50 p.m. Saturday (April 24), Camas-Washougal Fire Department crews were dispatched for a reported structure fire in the 600 block of NW Hill Street in Camas. Upon arrival, crews found a small one-story house with fire and smoke through the windows and roof.  

Firefighters took an offensive strategy and had the fire quickly under control.  CWFD personnel were assisted by the Vancouver Fire Department. 

The fire is believed to have originated in the kitchen.  The home and its contents are considered a total loss.  No firefighters or occupants were injured.
