BG police arrest juvenile in burglary, vehicle prowl case

BATTLE GROUND — Shortly after 3 a.m. on the morning of Tue., Sept. 27, Battle Ground police officers were dispatched to a vehicle prowl in progress in the 900 block of Northwest 12th Avenue. Dispatchers reported to the officers that the auto-prowl victim had detained a suspect.

According to a news release from the city of Battle Ground, when officers arrived on the scene they found the adult male victim and juvenile who the victim identified as the person he suspected of taking items from his vehicle. During their investigation, officers recovered numerous items from the area and on the suspect that appeared to have been stolen from vehicles and homes in the immediate neighborhood.

Officers arrested a 15-year-old male suspect for residential burglary, theft II, vehicle prowl and possession of marijuana under 40 grams. Charges have been forwarded to the Clark County Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office.

Police suspect that approximately 10 vehicles and homes may have been targeted by the suspect during the early morning hours of Sept. 27, between approximately midnight and 3 a.m. Items recovered have been returned to their owners; items not immediately claimed and returned are in safekeeping at the Battle Ground Police Department.
