BATTLE GROUND — The city of Battle Ground has become a literal battleground over the issue of gun rights and the Second Amendment, with two city council races set to play center stage in the debate. ClarkCountyToday.com reporter Chris Brown discussed the issue with Portland’s Morning News on 101.1 KXL-FM this morning.
NOTE: One small correction to the interview – We said Walters and VanGelder have both lived in Battle Ground for some time. VanGelder moved into the city limits of Battle Ground last November, but says he has lived within 10 minutes of the city his entire life.
“The irony being the he (Mayor Mike Dalesandro) and (Councilor Philip) Johnson are from out of state,” says VanGelder.
Watch for a full piece on the Battle Ground races early next week.
