Battle Ground HealthCare opens new clinic to better serve Clark County residents

The new building will increase services and access to care

Battle Ground HealthCare is celebrating the opening of its new location on 1910 SW 9th Ave. with a weeklong virtual celebration called “A Week of Gratitude: Celebrating where we have been and where we are going”. The social media campaign will highlight the beginnings of the clinic, the transition to the new location, a virtual ribbon cutting ceremony, and a celebration of local community partners.

Since first opening in 2011, Battle Ground HealthCare (BGHC) has been providing services in the Center Point building located adjacent to the Meadow Glade SDA Church in Battle Ground. Since opening their doors in the new location just over two months ago, the clinic has already seen a significant increase in new-patient appointments and service inquiries. The need for free health and wellness services in Clark County right now is enormous and has only grown during the pandemic” says Sue Neal, MAOM, BSN, Executive Director for BGHC

Battle Ground HealthCare plans to continue expanding chronic care services, add acute care and offer Influenza and COVID-19 vaccines. All services are free of charge and by appointment only. Services are provided by the generosity of volunteers who donate time to serve the community. There are currently 127 active volunteers who serve with the clinic, from licensed healthcare providers to front office staff to case managers and more. Since opening the clinic in 2011, volunteers have donated over 65,000 hours of service at the clinic.

“This new building, along with other funding this year, provides us with new opportunities to help decrease health disparities in our community” says Board President Adam Lee. “We’re so grateful for the support we’ve seen from city, county and state officials. Their recognition of the need to build health equity for Clark County residents is so important. This new building represents a dramatic jump in our ability to provide the life-changing care our mission calls on us to provide.”

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, an in-person open house has been postponed until a later date.

About Battle Ground HealthCare

Battle Ground HealthCare opened its doors in 2011 with a mission to provide health, hope and healing to the community. Since then, the clinic has expanded to provide medical, dental, physical rehabilitation services, case management, vision referrals, health and lifestyle classes, foot care and more. As a safety-net clinic, Battle Ground HealthCare performs a vital community service by providing access to free health care to those who are low-income, uninsured or underinsured. Our patients come from a wide-range of backgrounds. Many have low-wage jobs or are on fixed incomes, others have found themselves out of work and have lost their insurance. Regardless of their situation, we are here for them – providing services that educate, heal, and provide meaningful and permanent health changes – at no cost to the patient. Battle Ground HealthCare never charges for services. Services are made possible by dedicated volunteers and the generosity of community donors.
