Rest areas in both directions will each be closed for five days
RIDGEFIELD — Travelers who need to take a break while on Interstate 5 should plan ahead beginning Mon., April 8.
The Washington State Department of Transportation will close the Gee Creek rest areas located on both directions of I-5 near the State Route 502 interchange (Exit 11) for annual maintenance work.
- The southbound Gee Creek rest area will be closed from 1 a.m. Mon., April 8 until 4:30 p.m. Fri., April 12.
- The northbound Gee Creek rest area will be closed from 1 a.m. Mon., April 15 until 4:30 p.m., Fri., April 19.
During the closures, WSDOT maintenance crews will deep clean each location, repair damaged picnic areas, update landscaping and conduct routine safety inspections of the electrical and plumbing systems.
