SWCA presents 2019 Construction Champions Award

Gaynors Automotive honored as Rookie Member of the Year

VANCOUVER — Southwest Washington Contractors Association introduced its 2019 Construction Champions Feb. 6, at its third annual Construction Executive Summit.

The Construction Champions Awards recognize SWCA member organizations for their business success, participation in the Association and contributions to the community.

The 2019 winners are:

• General Contractor of the Year: Robertson & Olson Construction

• Subcontractor of the Year: Anchor Concrete

• Supplier of the Year: CalPortland

• Rookie Member of the Year: Gaynors Automotive

In presenting the awards, SWCA President Chrissy Lyons and Executive Director Nelson Holmberg said all the companies nominated for these awards are, “more than deserving in every regard. Each of them has made a difference in the community, the industry and the association.”

Robertson & Olson Construction – General Contractor of the Year

Robertson & Olson has been very visible across the community for several years. Some could argue they are more visible now than ever before with their name on tower cranes over some very substantial projects in downtown Vancouver, and signs on projects across Southwest Washington.

Honorable mention for General Contractor of the Year went to: Catworks Construction, Halbert Construction LLC and Tapani Incorporated.

Anchor Concrete – Subcontractor of the Year

Anchor Concrete is deeply involved in SWCA with service to the board of directors, several committees, contributions to the auction, and ideas that are valuable to members. They’ve proven themselves as an important partner on projects all over the metro area as well.

Honorable mention for Subcontractor of the Year: B&B Tile and Masonry, North Fork Landscape, Inc., Tapani Incorporated and Tradesmen Electric, Inc.

CalPortland – Supplier of the Year

Another member that’s deeply involved in SWCA, CalPortland serves the Board of Directors, sponsor of numerous association events, partner to many members and civic organizations and an obvious friend of the industry.

Honorable Mention for Supplier of the Year: Cadman, Materials Testing & Inspection

Gaynors Automotive became a member of SWCA in September 2019 and jumped right in. They were a supporter of the association even before joining, participating at the association’s golf tournament and engaging in industry-related conversations. They sponsored SWCA events – including providing free parking for the Summit – and are involved and very engaged in the association, making the most of their membership.

Honorable Mention for Rookie Member of the Year: Columbia Rock Products, NW Bark Blowing, Tapio Construction Inc.
