A native of the East Coast, Rogers has lived in Ridgefield since 1999. Her career has been focused on connecting groups and deepening relationships across the community.

From 2001-03, Rogers was the marketing, communications and grant writing manager at the Port of Ridgefield, where she helped to redevelop the Lake River Boat Launch. Since then, she’s been adjunct faculty at Clark College and Washington State University Vancouver. At WSUV, most recently, Rogers has served as the acting director of the Initiative for Public Deliberation.

“Ellen brings a unique set of skills, experiences and relationships to our team,” Holmberg said. “She has been working in Southwest Washington in a variety of roles since 2001. We are excited for her to propel our advocacy and communication efforts to the next level.”

Rogers’ community service has included service on multiple boards and fundraising committees. In its early years, Rogers chaired the Friends of Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge Birdfest. She also has volunteered for Seated in Gardner Creativity Program, Northwest Battle Buddies and the Clark County Food Bank.

Rogers makes her home in Ridgefield, with her husband, son, two dogs and too many cows, chickens and bunnies to count. In her spare time she enjoys farming and climbing on rock walls.
