The day-long conference features three keynote speakers, 12 breakout sessions as well as meals and refreshments
VANCOUVER – The Southwest Washington Contractors Association staff and board of directors are making plans for the Construction Executive Summit on March 24, 2022, at the Vancouver Hilton. The Summit has been an annual educational conference for local construction professionals since 2018.
The day-long conference features three keynote speakers, 12 breakout sessions as well as meals and refreshments. Topics for discussion this year include a “Legislative Wrap-up” from Amber Carter, an “Economic Outlook” from Scott Bailey and a discussion on “Empowering the Next Generation of Construction Professionals” from Robert Bertini of Oregon State University. Attendees are eligible to earn a certificate for six Continuing Education Credits from their participation.’
“The Summit is the premier education and networking event of the season,” said Cyndi Holloway, board president of SWCA and Government & Community Affairs Director of Waste Connections. “This is a great opportunity for our community to get together and learn about trends in the industry.” Also included in the event is a Supplier Exposition which allows industry suppliers to connect with the Contractors.
“New this year is our Young Contractor Forum,” mentioned Sherrie Jones, executive director of the SWCA. “This is a great opportunity for high schoolers to attend an afternoon panel featuring early career professionals and seasoned contractors – the high schoolers can learn firsthand about how the panel got started in their careers as well as ask questions about their own paths.” The panel will feature Matt Olson of Robertson & Olson Construction, Tonicha Farrell of Cadman Materials, Inc, Trinity Seger of North Woods Construction Company and Jeffrey Shaffer of Shaffer Excavating. The panel will be moderated by Mark Wreath, the CTE Director of Vancouver Public Schools. Students who wish to attend the Young Contractor Forum should register prior to the event. This panel takes place in the afternoon – more details available upon registration.
