Battle Ground Chamber hires new executive director

BATTLE GROUND — The Battle Ground Chamber of Commerce Executive Board announced Dec. 2 that Amy Tanska has been hired as the chamber’s new executive director.

Tanska will work with the Battle Ground Chamber Board of Directors, chamber members and other community leaders to continue to develop future opportunities for the chamber, strengthen relationships with community partners and continue to build memberships.

Tanska is joining the Battle Ground Chamber as past Executive Director Paul Montague is leaving the chamber to start a tax preparation business in Orchards.

“I am grateful to the chamber’s board for the opportunity to lead the chamber over the past two years,” Montague said. “I am confident it is in great hands as Amy Tanska takes the reins of leadership.”

“We are pleased with the work that Paul has done for the chamber over the past two years, and are thrilled to have Amy joining us as we chart future directions for the chamber,” said Board Chair Brian Teegardin. “As former development director for the Mount St. Helens Institute, she brings great experience working with nonprofits, and has some great ties here in north Clark County.”

“Chambers help raise the economic tide in the communities they serve,” Tanska said. “I am thrilled to be a part of this community as the Battle Ground Chamber’s new executive director, and am excited to be working with other community leaders as we move Battle Ground and north Clark County forward through the years to come.”

The mission of the Battle Ground Chamber is to create opportunities for business growth through education, communication and representation. The Battle Ground Chamber provides businesses a voice before local governments, offers events and activities to provide business leaders visibility and networking opportunities and creates avenues for businesses to positively affect their community.

The public is invited to come meet Tanska at the chamber’s Holiday Luncheon, which was recently rescheduled for Wed., Dec. 21, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., at the Battle Ground Community Center, 912 E. Main St., Battle Ground. There will be holiday music, a catered lunch and the holiday basket raffle showcasing a variety of gift baskets donated by area businesses.

Tickets to attend are $35 for chamber members or $45 for non-members. Raffle tickets can be purchased for $1 each or 25 for $20. To purchase tickets and register in advance, visit the chamber’s website at www.battlegroundchamber.org or call (360) 687-1510.
