Crews initiated a search within the home and found one non-ambulatory male who was carried out safely where medical aid was quickly administered

At 11:08 a.m. Sunday (May 31), the Vancouver Fire Department responded to a house fire at 12801 NE 4th Ave. in Clark County Fire District 6.

CCFD 6 units arrived within four minutes and found smoke and flames from the back of a 2-story adult family home. Firefighters immediately deployed hose lines to the back of and inside the house to extinguish the fire.

Crews initiated a search within the home and found one non-ambulatory male who was carried out safely where medical aid was quickly administered. He was transported by an ambulance with AMR to a local area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A second alarm was called to bring additional resources to the fire scene.

Firefighters identified that the fire had spread into the attic space. It took approximately 30 minutes to bring the fire under control with about 35 firefighters on scene working together from CCFD 6 and the VFD.

The Red Cross was requested to assist those displaced.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office.
