RIDGEFIELD — In a county that is witnessing rapid growth, new homes are being built seemingly on every corner. The NW Natural Clark County Parade of Homes aims to showcase current home design trends for new homes in the county.

From Sept. 8-24, the 40th annual Parade of Homes will showcase five model homes from three home builders and developers. Guests will be able to tour the homes to see new design trends, as well as get inspiration for their own home projects.

Featured homes are built by Cascade West Development, Generation Homes Northwest and Quail Homes. Each house features unique design cues and style choices intended to showcase the range of options available for homes.

Estimated home prices range from $700,000 to $900,000 with sizes in the 2,500 to 3,500 square foot range.

Cascade West Development will feature three homes at the event, including the Turtledove, the Overbrooke and the Genesis.

  • The Turtledove was designed for a retired couple to settle in. It is a “transitional ranch” design, and features wood and light accents designed to draw visitors in. It features multiple large windows to flood the interior with natural light. The house has two guest suites in addition to the main living amenities, and features a centrally located, climate controlled wine room.

  • Cascade West’s Overbrooke is designed to be a spacious family home. The Overbrooke takes cues from nature in its stained exposed overhead beams, while giving occupants ample views of the landscape outside of the house. Designed to complement the natural surroundings, the house features a large dining room that can be opened up upon an outdoor extension to increase its size.

  • Cascade West’s final show house, the Genesis, draws on classic styling cues to provide a multi-generational home. Like the Overbrooke, the Genesis draws on nature with exposed stained beams in its entryway, that mimic the branches of trees in the woods visible from the house. It is designed to create an airy atmosphere, that encourages residents to enjoy the house or take advantage of outdoor activities the facilities also encourage.

  • Generation Homes Northwest’s single entry into the Parade of Homes is the Whitby. It is a 3,287 square foot home that features four bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms. It is laid out around a central courtyard that provides access to the main living spaces. This single level house has a fully equipped guest house as well.

  • Quail Homes’ showcase house is called the Empty Nester. The home was designed for those “empty nester” couples whose families have grown up, and therefore derives its name from its intended occupants. A main design goal was to provide a home that improved its occupants’ quality of life. The house therefore has wide hallways and doors, a lack of steps and a prominent use of natural light.
