Senior citizens get an added discount on Wednesday, Aug, 12 at the Clark County Fair, and motorsport events take over the arena in front of the grandstands with two side-by-side racing events on the schedule

Wednesday will be Prime of Your Life Day at the Clark County Fair.

Senior citizens, who already get a small discount for a general admission ticket, get a bigger discount on this day every year at the fair.

And if they like motorsports, even better.

The concert series reigned in the grandstands the first three days of this year’s fair.

Then it was two days of bull riding, mutton bustin’, and rodeo.

Starting Wednesday, it’s the roar of engines, dirt, and racing.

According to the fair’s website, Addiction Powersports SxS Racing promises high-speed racing with tight turns, big jumps, and non-stop action. Drivers go head-to-head in side-by-side four-wheelers in a showdown with “dirt-flying excitement.”

The first racing starts at 2 p.m., with a second show set for 7 p.m. at the grandstands.

Also on Wednesday, folks can get a ride on a Monster Truck. (There is an extra cost to get a ride on a Monster Truck, but, hey, not too many opportunities to get to ride in one of those beasts.)

Of course, there are the other staples of the fair. Rides. Food. Vendors. Acts throughout the day on the community stage. Oh, and so many animals to see, too.

A friendly reminder that the fair opens at 10 a.m., but the carnival, with its thrill rides and family fun rides, does not open until noon.

Tyzen the Comedy Hypnotist will have two shows on the Community Stage, at 6:30 and 8:30 p.m.

DogTown will have events throughout the day. In other dog news, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office will hold another K-9 demonstration at 5:30 p.m. at the Family Fun Stage.

There are several shows featuring the Barnyard Races and the Pirates Parrot Show daily.

Mars Encounters, the featured exhibit for families, is open all day, but also has three live shows throughout the day: 2:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m., and 6:30 p.m.
